Category: Face ExerciseTarget: neckBody part: neckEquipment: body weightLevel: beginnerMovement: Stretch

The jaw and platysma stretch is a bodyweight exercise targeting the platysma and neck muscles. It combines a head tilt with a downward lip pull to stretch and tone the front of the neck and lower face.

How to do it

  1. Sit upright with your spine straight and shoulders relaxed.
  2. Tilt your head back gently until you are looking at the ceiling.
  3. Pull the corners of your mouth downward and outward to engage the platysma muscle along your neck.
  4. Hold this stretched position for 5–10 seconds.
  5. Slowly return your head to the neutral position and relax.
  6. Repeat for the desired number of repetitions.
