Frog Glute Leg Lift

Category: WorkoutsTarget: glutesBody part: upper legsEquipment: body weightLevel: beginnerMovement: Hinge

The frog glute leg lift is a prone bodyweight exercise targeting the glutes in the frog leg position. Lifting both bent knees off the floor while lying face down activates the glute muscles and posterior hip rotators, improving hip extension strength and glute engagement.

How to do it

  1. Lie face down with your forehead resting on your hands.
  2. Bring the soles of your feet together and allow your knees to fall outward in a frog position.
  3. Engage your glutes and lift both knees off the floor simultaneously.
  4. Hold the lifted position briefly, squeezing the glutes.
  5. Lower your knees back to the floor and repeat for the desired repetitions.

Form cues

Breathing: Exhale as you lift your knees off the floor, and inhale as you lower them back down with control.
