Category: WorkoutsTarget: upper backBody part: backEquipment: body weightLevel: intermediateMovement: Hinge

Y T W hand leg raise is a bodyweight exercise targeting the upper back and rear deltoids. Combining the Y, T, and W arm positions with opposite leg raises challenges posterior chain stability, scapular control, and overall back endurance.

How to do it

  1. Lie face down on the floor with your arms and legs extended.
  2. Simultaneously raise your arms into a Y shape and your opposite leg off the floor.
  3. Transition to a T shape by extending your arms straight out to the sides, then a W shape by bending your elbows.
  4. Lower back to the starting position and repeat the sequence.
  5. Continue for the desired number of repetitions.

Form cues

Breathing: Inhale as you prepare on the floor, and exhale steadily as you lift your arms and legs into position.
