The wall upper body bent back stretch is a bodyweight flexibility movement targeting the lower and upper back. Bending forward from the wall while maintaining slight contact with the lower back creates a progressive decompressive stretch along the entire spine.

How to do it

  1. Stand with your back against the wall and your feet about a foot from the base.
  2. Slowly bend your upper body forward and away from the wall while keeping your lower back lightly in contact.
  3. Reach your arms down toward the floor and feel the stretch through your upper and lower back.
  4. Hold the stretched position for 20-30 seconds.
  5. Return to an upright position against the wall.
