Category: Wall PilatesTarget: neckBody part: neckEquipment: body weightLevel: beginnerMovement: Stretch

The wall standing neck and back stretch hold is a bodyweight flexibility exercise performed with the back against the wall. The wall supports proper spinal alignment while the chin tuck creates a targeted stretch along the cervical spine and upper back.

How to do it

  1. Stand with your back against the wall and your feet a few inches from the base.
  2. Press your entire back and head against the wall and relax your arms at your sides.
  3. Slowly tuck your chin toward your chest, feeling the stretch along the back of the neck.
  4. Hold the tucked position for 20-30 seconds.
  5. Return your head to neutral and repeat for the desired number of sets.
