Single Leg Lifted Balance

Category: YogaTarget: quadsBody part: lower legsEquipment: body weightLevel: beginnerMovement: Balance

Single leg lifted balance is a standing yoga posture that targets the quadriceps of the standing leg while challenging overall balance and stability. It involves lifting one knee to hip height and holding the position, engaging the core and hip flexors.

How to do it

  1. Stand tall in mountain pose with your feet together and arms at your sides.
  2. Shift your weight onto your right foot and engage your core.
  3. Slowly lift your left knee toward your hip level, keeping your lifted thigh parallel to the floor.
  4. Extend your arms out to the sides or hold them at your hips for balance.
  5. Hold the position for 20-30 seconds, then lower your foot and repeat on the other side.
