Neck Press with Hands

Category: WorkoutsTarget: neckBody part: neckEquipment: body weightLevel: beginnerMovement: Push

The neck press with hands is an isometric lateral neck strengthening exercise using hand resistance applied to the side of the head. Pressing the head sideways against resistance activates the lateral neck flexors and upper trapezius, improving cervical lateral strength.

How to do it

  1. Sit or stand upright with your spine neutral.
  2. Place one hand on the side of your head above the ear.
  3. Press your head laterally against your hand while your hand resists.
  4. Hold the isometric contraction for 5–10 seconds.
  5. Release and repeat on the other side.

Form cues
