Wall Standing Calf Stretch

Category: Wall PilatesTarget: calvesBody part: lower legsEquipment: body weightLevel: beginnerMovement: Stretch

The wall standing calf stretch is a bodyweight flexibility exercise targeting the calves using the wall for balance and leverage. The back leg's heel is pressed into the floor while leaning forward, creating a sustained stretch through the gastrocnemius and soleus.

How to do it

  1. Stand facing the wall and place both hands flat against it at chest height.
  2. Step one foot back and press the heel firmly into the floor, keeping the leg straight.
  3. Lean your body slightly toward the wall to deepen the calf stretch on the back leg.
  4. Hold the stretched position for 20-30 seconds.
  5. Switch legs and repeat.

Form cues
