Cable Face Pull

Category: WorkoutsTarget: trapsBody part: backEquipment: cableLevel: beginnerMovement: Pull

The cable face pull is a cable machine exercise targeting the trapezius and rear deltoids. It improves upper back strength and shoulder health by training the external rotators and retractors of the scapula, making it valuable for postural correction.

How to do it

  1. Attach a rope handle to a cable machine set at approximately face height and stand facing the machine.
  2. Grip the rope with both hands using an overhand grip and step back until your arms are extended.
  3. Pull the rope towards your face by driving your elbows outward and back.
  4. Separate the rope ends at your face level, bringing your hands to either side of your head.
  5. Slowly return to the starting position and repeat for the desired number of repetitions.

Form cues

Breathing: Exhale as you pull the rope toward your face, and inhale as you slowly return to the starting position.
