Wall Single Leg Hamstring Stretch

Category: Wall PilatesTarget: hamstringsBody part: upper legsEquipment: body weightLevel: beginnerMovement: Stretch

The wall single leg hamstring stretch is a bodyweight flexibility exercise where one leg is extended up the wall while the other rests on the floor. This isolated stretch targets the hamstring of the elevated leg, with the wall providing a fixed surface for consistent positioning.

How to do it

  1. Lie on your back with your hips close to the wall and both legs extended upward against it.
  2. Lower one leg to the floor while keeping the other pressed straight against the wall.
  3. Flex the foot of the wall leg and feel the hamstring stretch along the back of that leg.
  4. Hold the stretch for 20-30 seconds, then switch legs.
  5. Repeat for the desired number of sets.

Form cues
