Quadriceps Hold Stretch

Category: WorkoutsTarget: quadsBody part: upper legsEquipment: body weightLevel: beginnerMovement: Stretch

The quadriceps hold stretch is a bodyweight standing stretch targeting the quads and hip flexors. Pulling the heel toward the glutes elongates the rectus femoris and other quad muscles, improving front-of-thigh flexibility.

How to do it

  1. Stand upright on one leg, using a wall or surface for balance if needed.
  2. Bend the opposite knee and grasp the ankle with your hand behind you.
  3. Pull the heel toward your glutes until you feel a stretch along the front of the thigh.
  4. Hold the position for 20-30 seconds.
  5. Release and repeat on the other side.

Form cues

Breathing: Inhale deeply through your nose and exhale slowly as you settle into the stretch, keeping your breath steady throughout the hold.
