Category: WorkoutsTarget: deltsBody part: shouldersEquipment: body weightLevel: beginner

Cross-body arm swings are a bodyweight dynamic mobility exercise targeting the deltoids and chest. The rhythmic crossing and opening of the arms warms up the shoulder joints, improves flexibility, and activates the chest and upper back.

How to do it

  1. Stand with feet shoulder-width apart and extend your arms straight out to the sides.
  2. Swing both arms forward and across your body, crossing them in front of your chest.
  3. Open your arms back out wide to the sides.
  4. Continue the cross and open motion in a controlled swinging rhythm.
  5. Repeat for the desired number of repetitions.

Muscles worked

Primary: delts. Secondary: chest, traps, rhomboids.
